You Can Own Your Life Coaching Niche When…

in Get More Clients, Make More Money

queen-crownIn the sea of 250,000+ coaches, it seems impossible to stand out, let alone become the #1 coach in your niche. However, there are several strategies you can use toclimb to the top of your field and get into the “top 10″ list of movers & shakers in your niche.

Here just a few of them:

1. Be on the cutting edge of your field. Hold surveys, study success stories, and publish your observations.

2. Educate your market. Host teleseminars and classes, write articles, and publish an industry newsletter.

3. Create a community in your niche. Start a forum, a social network, a membership site, or a live event to give people a place to gather, network, and learn.

Yesterday Marcia Bench shared another such strategy at the Coaching Boom 2010 event – creating a signature coaching system:

The coach who has a signature system is the coach who owns the market in their niche. And every successful coach bases their signature system on their core story. Find a core story in your personal experience, identify the actions you took to overcome your challenge and the feelings you experienced on your way to success, and the results you walked away with.

For example, if you overcame a challenge in your relationship, at work, or in parenting, think about HOW you did it and WHAT made you succeed. There may be hundreds of coaches doing what you do, but your story makes you one of a kind. Then use your story to create your step-by-step coaching system.

Laura Berman Fortgang did it with her “Now What?” system.

C.J.Hayden did it with her “Get Clients Now” system.

Francine Gaillour did it with her “Physician Coaching” system.

You can do it, too!

Hope this gets your juices flowing today :)

Hi Milana – Thanks for sharing these ideas.

I developed my signature system and free report, “Ten Steps to Finding and Attracting Your Ideal Niche” based on my own story and experiences. And everyone has it within them to do the same.

And, as you point out, once you have found your niche, you need to attract them to you. Understanding the needs and language of your target market, providing information that is valuable for your target market, and maintaining ongoing two-way communication, are some of the ways to do that.

Thanks and warm wishes,
Cindy

I love this idea of a signature system. My question is – how can you define your signature system in an niche that is both lucrative and one that you feel passionate about?
