Passive Marketing Strategies for Coaching Entrepreneurs

in Get More Clients, Make More Money

honey-bearIf marketing has not been your favorite thing to do in business, most likely you’re just going about it the wrong way. Let me show you how reframing your thinking about it can explode your business.

For example… What if it marketing wasn’t about prospecting, cold calling, asking for referrals, or any other type of selling tactics?

What if marketing was really about creating value?

I call it “passive marketing” (sometimes known as “attraction marketing”) here’s why this approach is absolutely awesome:

  • Passive marketing tactics don’t require you to keep asking for business;
  • You can leverage them – do it once, use it over and over again;
  • They allow you to generate revenue even when you’re not working with clients;
  • Most importantly, using these strategies make you absolutely irresistible to clients.

So what does “passive marketing” looks like in practical terms? Here are some of the strategies that I consider passive (as in “not having to ask for business directly):

  • Creating an audio product
  • Developing a live program
  • Putting together a toolkit
  • Speaking in front of large audiences
  • Publishing a newsletter
  • Creating a community subscription web site
  • Writing a book
  • Creating a network of vendors and partners
  • Conducting monthly tele-seminars
  • Starting an online school or university in your niche
  • Organizing live events for your target audience
  • Developing a workshop and licensing it to others
  • Starting your own radio show

…among many others. THAT’S what will attract clients to you like bees to honey!

I encourage you to create a “passive marketing strategy” for your business this year, experience tremendous results, and fall in LOVE with marketing the way many successful coaches and entrepreneurs have!

Great tools! I would add that the most passive of all marketing strategies is the way your marketing content is written. Well written copy absoutely will do the selling for you and put money in your pocket.

Milana, I’m a huge fan of attraction marketing (and of yours:). In fact, that is one of the main things that I coach on, and is an important part of my free report, “Ten Steps to Finding and Attracting Your Ideal Niche”.

What I love most about attraction marketing is that it allows you to attract the “right” people — the ones who see value in what you uniquely have to offer. And when people find you, not only are they a more qualified contact, they are also going to be more willing to buy from you because they don’t feel like you’re trying to sell them something.

At the heart of attraction marketing is providing educational information that is of value for your target market. Teaching proves you have their best interests at heart and positions you as a trustworthy expert. And the Internet is the perfect medium for connecting with people to teach them because the Internet is now the standard way of researching anything.

Thanks for helping spread the word on this powerful form of marketing.
Warm wishes,
Cindy

So many preople in our faith based career training programs are afraid to market. This is a perfect solution for those who don’t want to be seen as selling their services.
Thanks the great article!

I’ve always thought of effective marketing as being a great host: knowing what your guests (customers) want and then telling them you’re in a position to provide it at your great party (or product or service) and then doing just that. The result? Your guests (or customers) can’t wait for the next invitation (or opportunity to buy) and will ask to bring friends (referrals – the holy grail of marketing)!

Very good set of tools and one thing that has worked for me being hosting public workshops at no cost. These normally being a 2-3 hour workshop on issues that is very rife. Using this to leverage and build practice and your list at the same time.

Have a fantastic day!
