Two Strategies to Build Your Mailing List Fast

in Get More Clients

Your very own responsive mailing list is the life and the energy of your business. The energy also comes from the relationship you have with your list.  Your list is what allows you to put everything you do into context – create products, design a teleseminar, host a live event, develop a joint venture, etc.

So, if you don’t have an in-house mailing list, you may be walking around with a feeling of anxiety and being completely disconnected from your market.

While there are literally THOUSANDS OF WAYS to build a mailing list (and that’s why most entrepreneurs go into a “shock” and mental paralysis about it!), I found there are two specific strategies that work for me every time:

- Article Publishing

- Joint Ventures

Thanks to these two strategies I was able to build 2 mailing list – 10,000 people (which I sold later), and 14,000 people – both highly responsive and targeted.

With the arrival of social media many people “threw” themselves at twittering, facebook, bookmarking, etc. And, while I totally recognize that these are great strategies, I keep in mind how time consuming they are.

So you have three choices here:

1. Get involved in social media and other traffic generating / list building activities

2. Not get involved and accept a slow growth of your list

3. Delegate these strategies to people who “live, breath, and eat” them!

Of course, #3 is the obvious choice if your goal is to live The Bliss Factor. You get top experts to dedicate themselves to generating traffic and building your list, helping you keep your workload small and your profits – large.

Hi Milana,
I love your story about how much you value living in the US. Even though I was born here, my grandparents came from Italy in the early 1900’s. I always feel truly blessed to live in a free country.

I have a question. You said that you can build your mailing list using 3 approaches. You mentioned that you can build your mailing list by delegating this to peple who “live, eat and breath them”. Who are these people? I really need help with this. I think that I would be more successful if I could build my list.
Thank you,
Dee

I am curious, too, about who these people are and where to find them. Could you kindly clarify the link between that delegation and the article creation and joint ventures? Are you talking about affiliate programs and links on the Internet, sharing email blasts, etc.? Thanks so much. I love your articles.

Sage, when I talk about delegation I mean taking your “yuck bucket” things off your plate and putting it on someone else’s plate :) You can delegate article creation to another person who actually enjoys writing and submitting articles – if you don’t. Hope this helps!

Hi Milana,

I agree with you about the article publishing!!! We have been tracking our consistent article marketing efforts. Wow is all I can say. Thanks for keeping things straight forward and simple.

Hi,Milana.

I know social marketing is the hot new thing but I am not thoroughly convinced it is a good leads generator. I just know personally how I can get so sucked into email and suddenly realize I have lost 2 hours.

I love your suggestion to outsource to people who know how to make the most of this medium. However, as a new coach the few companies I found were really out of my budget. Can you recommend a reasonable provider of this service?

All the Best,

Stacy

Hi Stacy. I don’t outsource social media…yet. I am enjoying it too much myself…lol! When I do, it’ll be either my own VA or someone from odesk.com posting MY thoughts and ideas!
