Gary Vaynerchuk, the Wine Library guy, says: “What do you want to do every day for the rest of your life? Do it!”
Thousands of people walk through life completely blind to their unique talents, trying to master something they might never master entirely, and most importantly, they go through life struggling.
But what if you could figure out what you’re really good at already and master THAT?
What would that do to your life? Money? Success? Reputation?
Most people in the world are unhappy and not successful, and that is because they’re trying to master something they were never meant to master.
Clearly, these lions are still learning what they can and cannot do. Or rather, what they’re born to do naturally, and what they should stay away from. Chances are, if they keep trying, they’ll get better at it. But most soon realize that it’s easier to use their natural abilities … and instead of trying to climb a tree to go after a baboon, they simply chase a zebra.
Unfortunately, many humans never realize what their natural abilities are and keep trying to strengthen their weaknesses, ignoring the abilities they were born with and could master much faster and be much more successful in business and in life.
Every highly successful person you hear about has recognized what they’re great at and harnessed their unique talent. Just off the top of my head…
Donald Trump – negotiating deals;
Stephen King – writing mysteries and thrillers;
Celine Dion – performing;
Abe Lincoln – leading;
Oprah Winfrey – connecting and inspiring;
Nido Qubein – inspiring and motivating (my favorite speaker of all times!);
Seth Godin – challenging standards and innovating.
A natural ability is NOT your niche.
A natural ability is NOT your topic of expertise.
A natural ability is what you do best and it will dictate your business model: what you do every day, how you structure your offerings, and what to charge premium fees for.
Lynda-Ross Vega
According to Lynda-Ross Vega, who’s been studying personality success potential for over 25 years, every person on the planet comes with a certain set of natural abilities. And unless you recognize and use yours, chances of you success are going to limited. Everyone has a natural ability, but most people just never take time to discover what theirs is.
When you go to school, you study all subjects and all skills to become a well-rounded adult. So it’s sort of against our belief system to focus on one specific skill or ability that each of us was born with. The problem is that when we focus on something that’s not in our natural ability, we have to work much harder to achieve results.
Lynda-Ross Vega and her partner Gary Jordan spent 25 years studying personalities, and what makes people succeed, and they help people unlock what’s been holding them back by simply understanding their natural talents and abilities. I invited them to the upcoming Coaching Millions Super Summit to guide you in the process of discovering YOURS.
They ‘ll show you how to build your coaching business around your natural abilities and how to attract the types of clients you love to work with. But also how to increase your level of success in every area of your life, business, and relationships.
Have you discovered what YOUR unique ability is? Your “personal brilliance zone?”
Want to be happy?
Want to make lots of money?
Then spend 80% of your time inside your “personal brilliance zone” and watch your entire world transform!
Discover Your Unique Ability
Here’s a quick exercise to get you started – answer these questions:
1. What have you been paid the most money for in your life?
2. What can do for hours without noticing time go by?
3. What would you do all day long (other than goof around) without getting paid?
I’d be creating products, workbooks, programs, and teaching them to others
And, I could TOTALLY do it all day long without getting paid…if only someone else could pay my bills!
Milana’s Unique Ability
My unique ability that comes to me naturally is taking complex concepts and creating clarity around them. I do that through creating my coaching products, live events, retreats, strategy sessions, and in conversations with my clients. My brain is constantly searching clarity and I used to take it for granted.
It might sound too “coachy”, but that’s exactly why clients pay me the big bucks – to take something overwhelming, mind-boggling, something they can’t wrap their mind around, and break it down into simple steps!

Milana:
OK, now I know we’re kindred spirits. I, too, find that taking something complicated and figuring out what makes it simple is my unique ability. I can see the big picture and the details in a scenario quite easily and am surprised when other people can only see one or the other.
Very cool post. BTW, I would love to come to the Summit but the 23rd is my daughter’s birthday and I won’t miss it.

Bring your daughter along!
Hi Milana,
I believe my natural abilities are:
1. Being a good listener
2. Being someone who other people *want* to talk to and open up to, so I have a chance to listen
3. Being a good communicator back
4. Filtering out things people need to know now to solve their problems vs. the “extra” they may want to know later (or not at all)
5. Being supportive and non-judgmental and fair
6. Being able to say when I’m wrong, make a mistake or don’t know something which builds trust
All of these things I believe help me in my career as a software engineer (i.e. I communicate better than the average techie nerd but also do a good job) and now as a sleep coach on my website, which can hopefully become my “day job” one day. I’ve been reading a lot of your things and maybe next year will be able to attend the Summit!
Thank you for all your hard work!
What an appropriate time for you to post this topic. I recently came to the realization that I’ve been under utilizing my natural abilities and am now taking action to support those abilities and I can tell you that the work have have been doing has become easier because of it.
I have natural talents for facilitation and moving conversations, especially in a group setting such as a mastermind group or such.
I can also instantly see the end in a strategic way during conversations and make it easy people to break it down to what needs to be done in small steps (I’m just not the person to take care of all the nitty gritty details)
And I’m an idea maker, as such I’m also happy to share my ideas and let others run with it because I often don’t have the time to act on all of them!
Great stimulating topic, Milana!
Thanks!
Milana
I have followed your work for several years and own many of your products. The concept of focusing on your strengths is right on the mark. Check out my web-I offer license opportunites to other coaches-this is the result of following your advise!!! It is only the beginning.
Dear Milana,
I have been a member in your coaching club around one year. and I baught some of your products.I am happy for that, as it is a resource for inspiration for me; and contains a lot of guidance.
I am really not sure about the natural abilities that I have.
I am sure that I am a good facilitator. I am a great active listener. I can read people.
I like doing any job that needs research, thinking and creativity. I already done several projects as enjoyment without actual payback. It seems I was taken for granted that I do great job without pay!!
I am originaly a computer engineer, climbed the career ladder till the position of IT Manager. Then, I studied MBA and attended a lot of self development trainings which made me to decide to shift my career. Now I am HR Manager. Here when I started my own interest about Coaching as a business. However, I feel I am missing something yet.
As it is not easy for me to attend the summit; however I’d love to, definetly I will wait for your precious products to buy and discover myself.

Hi Milana,
What if you have already worked out what your natural abilities are – but are still not getting anywhere?
When I was born, I had the ability to cry. And I cried. It was my first breath.
… And as my life journey ticked away, the seconds, the minutes, the hours, the days and the years – I did ‘things’. Like a piece of a giant jigsaw puzzle, there was a spot for me in this human game. But it was like this came naturally to me – until I was told that I should ‘do better’.
Then I thought perhaps what I was doing was not ‘realising my true potential’. What a thought! I felt ‘inadequate’. I felt that I was wasting my time with my business and my life. This was the start of the ‘chase of the century’ – which turned out to be like me being a greyhound on a race track.
Some time ago, I woke up and realised that whatever I was doing – I had created for myself because of my unique abilities. I was never going to be exactly like someone else – and I gave up trying.
Now, when I am described as a ‘fat, ugly, unhealthy, poor, lonely…’ loser – then I just say: “That’s ME. That is what I was meant to be. And don’t tell me that I am not successful – because it took a lot of effort and natural abilities to get me here!”
Similarly to Milana, my natural ability is in making the intangible, tangible. I can look at something that appears to make no sense at all and find the sweet spot that brings immediate clarity for people. It’s a gift . . . and a curse sometimes.
) (The phone rings often with people starting off with the words, “Hey O, let me run something by you for a minute.”
Hi Milana,
This is so on target with what I do with my clients. I’m branding it now, but it’s all about what I call “Digging You.” The process is very exciting, as I find that many that think they know themselves and what they are “about” are re-discovering their purpose and passion by knowing these things you speak of. What’s natural.
Next is knowing how you can do this and live your life, from a position of strength. Doesn’t mean challenges won’t come, they do. But I have experienced that when we know where we’re “coming from,” what we are “about,” and what we can “stand on” then, and only then will we prosper in every area of our life.
For many, for so long, people have ridden the tide. I did it for years myself. Even things I was SO good at, that I enjoyed doing, that came SO natural for me way back when, are the things I do not like to do in my business now! I do not like to do them in my personal life now, either!
So discovering, or re-discovering your talents and abilities, skills and gifts, knowing how they can and should play a big part of everything you do, AND know that you can actually make a living from these things……from a position of strength…..priceless!
See you here in Dallas in October! Woo-Hoo!
Hi Deni! Great comments, thank you! I heard someone use the phrase “curse by competency” – just because you’re good at it, doesn’t mean that’s your natural ability. That’s why I look for other signs: really love doing it; could be doing it all day; would be doing it w/o getting paid, etc. Yes, see you in Dallas at the Coaching Millions Super Summit!
Olalah, don’t answer the phone unless a scheduled appointment with a client – that’s been my policy since I got the 2nd phone line just for my office 5 years ago. Also, this allows people to see that you KNOW and APPRECIATE your special gift, and do not take it for granted – therefore to access it you need to charge for it… unless it’s a good friend, of course
Hi Nadia, A combination of MBA, IT, and HR tells me that you’re very prolific and could easily master ANYTHING! The question is, what could you do all day long enjoying every minute of it and not notice time go by?
Nicole, there are all skills and things you can do, and that’s a great list! But there’s also ONE thing that brings it all together. What can you be doing all day long w/o getting paid and not notice the time go by; while also producing your best value? That’s the natural ability to focus on 80% of the time. It’s tough, and sometimes working with a coach can help you truly pin-point the answer..but the outcome and the clarity turn your business around!
